The story isn’t new, the romance, romcom and romantasy genres are looked down on or ignored as legitimate genres by tastemakers.

Our Vision is a future where Romantasy games are as big as the cozy games genre. Where the popularity of the novel genre is mirrored in the popularity of it’s games counterpart.

Picture this… you log in to steam, the Nintendo Eshop, Playstation store and the first thing you see is a collection of Romance games.

Games inspired by A Court of Thorns and Roses, games that remind you of Fourth Wing. Break out romance hits rule the indie picks of the year.

Hi I’m Katie Roots the founder of Romantasy Games Direct! Am I a little bit extra sometimes? Yes.

I’m a games marketer and creative director with more than 15 years experience.

I co-founded Blushbox Collective, a love sex & romance games development community and founded Heartbeat Symposium - a 3 day symposium for developers to work together to make love & romance games prototypes and develop new systems for supporting romance experiences in video games.

I’m an entrepreneur, an ENTHUSIAST and a big dreamer. I hope you’ll come along with me. I love to make experiences that connect people.

My favourite things (apart from video games) are independent Australian Fashion (Shout out, Dyspnea & Cakey Sportsman), historical sewing and anything sparkly.
